Washington Outreach Ministry, Inc. (WOM), a United Way Agency began over twenty six years ago to serve the community, founders Lewis and Rev. Frances R. Webber. In 2009, we became a 501c3 government approved nonprofit organization.
As the largest Emergency Food Pantry in Cleveland County North Carolina, our organization networks with Feeding America and Second Harvest Food Bank of the Metrolinas to feed over 15,000 clients in our county and surrounding areas. This network has afforded us the opportunity to partner with 15 other hunger relief agencies in a collaborative effort to end hunger. We also supply seniors (60 and older) additional food once a month through the senior box program (CFSP) and all clients have access to additional food once per month through the TEFAP program (formerly known as Cleveland County Commodities). We are honored to have partnered with Partnership for Community Prosperity, Cleveland County Schools, and Second Harvest Food Bank in starting two school food pantries in Cleveland County at Graham Elementary (every 2nd Tues.) and James Love School (every 4th Tuesday). These pantries serve the families and staff of these two schools.
Weekend Backpack Ministry
"We serve over 90 families from two local elementary schools with backpacks full of food for families for the weekend."
